Short Film - Personal Project

What script did you use for the project? What was the concept of the script?      We used Sarah Pitts' script. The concept was about a teacher who is secretly a serial killer. The students get killed one by one until eventually Eliza, another student, kills the killer, only to find out that she herself enjoys killing. What was your process?     Our Pre-Production process was to first set up a location, start casting and refining the script. We had to make sure every scene we needed was storyboarded and ready to go, along with assigning production team roles. There were only three of us so production took a lot. Once we got the location we set up a day of everyone to show up and stayed until late to make sure we got every shot we needed. What was your role in the process and what did you learn along the way?      My role was the Art Director and the Location Scout. I learned that actually finding a good place that fits the script and concept of the film is harder to actually do

Final Reflection (Web Design)

What is one valuable takeaway you learned?           I learned how to better my usage of technology in web design. I learned that just making a simple website does not get the job done and how to make the website more appealing. I learned it by making websites by code and designing it in my own way. This is important because with the mental health online business I plan to run I now know how to make my own website layout from code. Challenges I faced was remembered which code to use and when. What are your greatest strengths/what are your weaknesses?           My weaknesses would have to be not being able to get work done on time. I tend to be OCD and a perfectionist when I work so I always get caught up on making it perfect. My greatest strengths would be color scheme and font. I can always pick a good font and color scheme for the website depending on the topic. What are you going to do with what you have learned?           I am going to apply what I have learned to my onl

Final Reflection (Video Production)

What is one valuable takeaway you learned from each guarantee?           I learned Project Management as my most valuable takeaway from E-Comm. I learned it by having to work in groups with a large project and a limited amount of time. It was important because when I go to college and even throughout my high school years I will need to lean to make schedules and time manage my projects. The challenges I faced was sticking to the plan and not procrastinating by changing the plan every few days. I had to learn to stay consistent. What are your greatest strengths/what are your greatest weaknesses?           My greatest weaknesses are time management and accuracy/quality. I can do very well with hands-on projects, but when it comes to computers or internet projects I do not do very well. I am a very visually physical learner so if I am not able to touch/highlight anything I will do much worse. My greatest strengths are producing scripts or writing. I have always done well with writi

History of Flash

🔺 In the time before Adobe Flash the "only thing exciting thing one might find on a webpage was a low-resolution GIF, or blinking text" (Collins 1). When Adobe Flash was first introduced, people were astounded. The new application brought "web-based video, animation, and interactivity..." (Collins 1).       ðŸ”º Then the Flash Player plugin was introduced to the world. This guaranteed that when the application was put on a computer the design of the webpages would look the exact same for every computer, no matter the product's company or the type of browser the buyer used to access the internet.      ðŸ”º Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, wrote in 2010 his thoughts on the new Flash Player. In the letter on the Apple website he said that instead of using the new Adobe Flash, he was going to make iPhone's and Mac's with HTML 5, CSS, and JavaScript. His reasoning was that Flash could not animate or be made interactive.

e-Communication EOY Reflection

Image
During my first year of e-Communication at Olathe Northwest High School I have learned many new skills. One of them being how to create an animation with different slides. Another being how to create a website on DreamWeaver. I learned each of these new skills by using multiple applications such as DreamWeaver, Photoshop, Sketchup and Illustrator. Each of these can be used together to create a wonderful project that can be shown to friends and family. This is important to learn these skills because you will use them everyday in your life. Whether you want to be an illustrator, an author, or many other careers, you will most likely use these skills one in your lifetime. My weaknesses are probably Sketchup. It is hard or me to get an idea and straight out create a 3D figure mimicking what I see in my head. But my strengths would be Photoshop and DreamWeaver. I am very good at code as I learned this year, and also creating websites. Photoshop comes easy to me because I have always b

Fourth Quarter Team Project

Image
Our team name was JAM and our product was Trackit, stickers that can find anything electronically through an app or computer. Together we created a good product, yet struggled with communication within the group. There were many issues involved with the communication problems. We also struggled with leadership skills. The next group project I will work to communicate with my group my ideas. Something I would change would definitely be the leadership skills and communication issues. I have improved by working with others I would not expect to work with, mostly because when in a group setting I would always go to close friends. For the project I worked on the logo design: the wifi symbol behind the text, he color scheme and the font.

Dog and House Animation

3D modeling is different from 2D modeling in the way you go about making your work. For the dog house you start off with a rectangle and use the push-pull tool to pull the rectangle up into a block. Then you create a smaller rectangle on the front of the block and use the push-pull tool again to pull in the rectangle. After this you use the two-point arch to make an arch at the top and again use the push-pull tool to push that in. After doing this use the line tool to create a line down the middle of the top of the block and use the move tool to pull the line up, making a roof. Using the offset tool can make it easier to create a trim-like appearance. After this you use the paint tool to color your house. I got the dog and cat from the "Get Models" tool. For the chair it was a bit more difficult because you had to use many different tools to create the back of the chair and then the chair legs. I decided to make the chair legs a bit more complicated to create a fancy appear
